From what I hear, it's both. He's Russian, but the accent is a put-on.

Man oh man. Yeah, years back now: SCTV did a sketch with Dave Thomas as Chekhov in a Chekov play.

I had a dream a few nights ago that everyone I knew had 5-6 blogs and I was staying up all night reading and commenting on them.

Keep in mind that on the original show, the characters were constantly blogging; "Captain's Log", "Personal Log", etc. I think the only comment-like thing though would be when Spock or Scotty had the conn and added updates to the Captain's Log.

Picard searches Captain Varley's log, in "Contagion", basically by using tags.

My favorite Star Trek dream (TNG, though) was when I was crashed on an icy planet in a shuttle except I wasn't in the show, it was real. So when Picard, Riker, and Troy showed up the phasers and communicators were just stunt toys and I spent the whole episode freezing and trying to convince them that they were delusional actors and we were all going to die. I remember saying "NO, you're NOT Picard, you're Patrick Stewart! That won't work!" Also, I kissed him (Stewart) a couple of times. *blink* I think I was in High School at the time, there was a lot of kissing in my dreams...

uh... YES, he is. Koenig's parents were Russian Jewish immigrants from the Soviet Union. Yelchin's parents were also immigrants from the Soviet Union.

In fact, Koenig's father repeatedly snuck back to the "old country" to visit while Walter was growing up.

Both actors are Russian. Both actors are putting on the accent, though.

I dunno.

If it really were a dream about them being internet users, the Enterprise would be spinning in circles. Making a lot of noise while it boldly goes where people have been many times before.

There must be a deeper hidden meaning in your dream somewhere.
