Nikola Tesla mad for science and the ladies mad for Nikola Tesla
I am in love with Kate Beaton's history comics. And not just because she did one about Emperor Norton and one about Nikola Tesla.

Yes! I love these comics too. I hope she revives the 20 questions meme next year. Or month.

♥ ♥ ♥

Even if I had a time machine, there would be no hope of goinking Tesla. The dude's biography said there was no indication he ever had intraspecies sex.

Hehe. Loved them. I'll have to come back and work out if I've missed any.

I'm hoping to visit California some day and Norton's one of the big draws since he's so cool.
(But it seems they didn't bury him in SF. That'll be an inconvenient detour to make.)

The amazing truth is that no one is buried in San Francisco! It's against the law because there's no room for cemeteries here. Dead San Franciscans, Joshua Norton I included, are typically buried in Colma, a small town consisting almost entirely of cemeteries and mortuary services, where the dead outnumber the living by a factor of thousands to one. It is the worst place to be in the event of a zombie uprising, although seeing Zombie Emperor Norton would be pretty cool.

Well now I have two reasons to visit Colma.

I'd love to know what it'd be like to live or grow up there.

Lisa Jonte tells me that Colma's slogan is "a nice place to live." I've been through Colma on accident. It is very, very pretty. And very, very quiet.

For California zombie uprisings, Christopher Moore's "The Stupidest Angel" is le must.
