No Overlooked Manga Festival this week. I've been enjoying the newest show at the Cartoon Art Museum, Edward Gorey's Dracula, featuring art and memorabilia from the Gorey-designed 1970s stage production of Dracula. Among the news clippings sent over by the Edward Gorey House and Charitable Trust, I was drawn to this actual article from the Boston Globe:

I know Iolanthe was mentioned, but I think that Ruddigore is much more Gorey-esque, and have kind of fallen in love with the idea!

I can totally see why he wanted to do Iolanthe. I've always been drawn to the visual possibilities of that one as well. Just the contrast of the straight-laced British lords and the libidinous fairies...I can picture what a Gorey version would look like.
