New Li'l Mell!
He means well. Really.

http://www.girlamatic.com/comics/mell.php

The Stiff, Jason Thompson's zombie romance comic, hasn't updated on Girlamatic for a while, since Jason's been busy writing a book. Nosing around the Internet, however, I found ShitaiFan.com, a fansite for Shitai, the manga upon which The Stiff is based (or, depending on whom you ask, completely ripped off). English-language Shitai sites are rare, so you should definitely check this out.

...whoa... Suddenly I'm finding all these Viz people on LJ... this is seriously crazy. Plus, you draw a webcomic? That's totally sweet!

...this is Annaliese btw, not just some totally random person... just a slightly random person. ^_^

"The Stiff" was one of the main reasons I joined Girlamatic. I cancelled my subscription while I was out of work. The lack of new pages of "The Stiff" is one of the main reasons I haven't rejoined Girlamatic. It's one of maybe three comics I read there.

I admit I was gullible enough to believe that the site Sarge linked was real - if for no other reason that it gave me hope that I'd actually be able to learn more about the "real" comic. So forgive me if I'm even more grumpy than usual upon not having any new "Stiff" and being so easily duped that there was ever a manga "Stiff".

*grumble*

Well, the site's correct about one thing: Jason Thompson is a shady character.

If it makes you feel any better, he told me that the Shitai site has inspired him to get back to "The Stiff." Not that this will be an immediate thing, because he is writing a giant damn book. You have no idea.

As a longtime shitai-otanami, I must inform you that this site is disgustingly inaccurate.

Firstly, Shitai Kaiten (not Kaiden!) was not an exclusive Dreamcast release - it was also released in a handheld version on the Bandai Swan Crystal. Furthermore, the site is shamefully out-of-date, and does not mention that Umezu has twice appeared in public - once to accuse Jason Thompson of akumaho ("black magic") and once to explain his recent arrest for illegally driving with a chainsaw in the backseat.

Yeah, fansites are always full of those crazy inaccuracies. Don't even ask me why it doesn't include anything about Shitai Episode Z (a.k.a. Shin Shitai), the prequel series currenly running in Young Tomorrow magazine. I know a lot of fans don't consider it canon because it's written and drawn by a different artist, but they could've at least mentioned it.

I've heard - and this is just a rumor, mind - that Shin Shitai is the work of Umezu himself. In order to disguise his unique artistic style and his famously snappy writing, he draws it entirely with his left hand and writes it entirely with his left brain.
