The sandy-haired fellow is Queensbury Joe, who previously appeared in the Smithson Alphabet (and, before that, elsewhere). He's not British. He just talks that way. It's really unfortunate.

Finally, some sad news: no Overlooked Manga Festival this week. I am sick as a dog right now and have not had the wherewithal to put one together. But if you have suggestions for manga I could discuss in future OMFs, by all means leave them in the comments. It has to be manga that is a) available in official English translation, and b) unfairly overlooked by American audiences.

Alternately, if you want to talk about untranslated manga titles that desperately need to come over here, I'm as game for discussions of Nijigahara Holograph or Detroit Metal City as the next nerd.
