Excellent! And nicely off-kilter in a way that I greatly enjoy in short stories.

It's like the funny stories they had in Galaxy Science Fiction magazine back when H.L. Gold and Frederik Pohl were the editors. It would be fun if it weren't the fact that it's only the first part.
